Hotspot shield review11/30/2023 My usage was limited by their maximum data download allowance. Some of the problems I have seen people complain about could have been detected within 45 days if they chose Hotspot Shield VPN. Having 45 days to try an all-access unlimited service is a great way to find any problems or dislikes. They have then become disappointed with the VPN for a number of reasons, and the fact they have paid for a full year has left a very bitter feeling in their mouth. Some users have jumped right in and chosen a VPN and paid for the yearly (discounted) option. When doing this Hotspot Shield review, I have looked at many VPNs, and I have seen a trend in complaints. When there are other VPNs who offer anything from 0 to 30-day money back options, this is a big bonus of Hotspot Shield. One of the greatest benefits of trying Hotspot Shield VPN is that you really are allowed full access for up to 45 days where you can still get your money back if you are not satisfied. When researching for our Hotspot Shield review it also became apparent that Hotspot Shield does not offer a kill switch option, available on other (but not all) VPNs. Some other points of interest to note is that where some VPNs strive to offer a no-log-keeping policy, it is believed that Hotspot Shield does keep partial logs at a certain time, and although this is encrypted, it does mean that some users feel more comfortable using a VPN, where no logs are kept, even for a short period of time. Most secure encryption: Military AES 256 bits Windows, MacOS, iOS, Android, Linux, Smart TV Some of the main points of interest are listed below. As one of the cheaper options on the market, it is great to see that they have tried to pack this VPN with as many features as possible. Virtual desktop oculus quest11/30/2023 Passthrough isn’t a substitute for AR yet. However, the Quest 2 can connect to a single Bluetooth device at a time. I would also prefer a mouse instead of a touchpad. It alternates between being unresponsive and scrolling too fast. Scrolling up or down: scrolling with the Logitech K830 touchpad isn’t very accurate in VR. Instead, I have to select text with the keyboard. If I click on text and drag the cursor, no text is selected. Touchpad can’t select text: For some reason, I can’t select text with the touchpad. Perhaps with Air Link, the display can be detailed enough that I can really use my VR headset for virtual monitors. With Virtual Desktop, the display was a little less detailed than I needed it to be. When I get access to Air Link, I’d like to see how easily I can use desktop apps such as Premiere. The virtual monitors only work in the browser app, which means Infinite Office is limited to web-based apps only for now. Logitech K830 is a keyboard that can also appear in VR Limitations and Bugs This makes it easier to type in VR, especially with symbols and numbers. You’ll also see your hands whenever you type. If you use a Logitech K830 keyboard (around $80), you’ll be able to see a model of the keyboard in VR. The browser windows will be kept as-is even after you restart your VR headset or if you move the headset to another area. Persistence : The virtual monitors are also persistent on both Quest and Quest 2. And yes, I can read small text easily because of the size of the virtual monitors – even 6 point Times New Roman is easily legible to me on Quest 2 and on Quest 1, I can read 10 point font. I can create up to three widescreen virtual monitors that curve up to 180 degrees around me, and each monitor can hold any number of tabs within them. And to my surprise, most of these concerns were addressed adequately with Infinite Office, which I tried with Oculus Quest 2. These are just some of the obstacles to using VR headsets as virtual monitors. And although most of us are touch typists, it would help a lot to be able to see both they keyboard and the mouse, especially when we have to type a lot of symbols and numbers. You’d want the virtual monitors to be persistent as you move from place to place. You also wouldn’t want to lose your work. The display would have to be detailed enough that you could read small text easily. It’s a simple concept - we would be able to have as many monitors as we could want in VR but it is a bit harder to execute than it may seem. Last week, Oculus announced the roll-out of Infinite Office, a suite of features designed to enable us to use VR headsets as virtual monitors. Here’s a hands-on report (no pun intended), which I actually wrote in VR. I got to try working in VR with the first VR keyboard and virtual monitors with Oculus Quest Infinite Office and it was a much better experience than I expected. Will your boss buy you a VR headset someday? That seems far-fetched but it may be more likely than you think, as VR headsets are becoming practical as virtual monitors. Translucent polymer clay tutorial11/30/2023 If you were to boldly push this slice through a thin setting on your pasta machine, you would get a pile of crumbles for your effort. Take a clean blade and make slices of clay about 1/8″ (3mm) thick. Open that up, remove the block, and set it down on your work surface. Pardo Art Clay comes in a clamshell box, and inside is a cardboard and foil sleeve. How to Condition Pardo Translucent Art Clay It will always crumble easily and it does take special care to get the best results from it. Yes, fresh Pardo is easier to work, but know that Pardo will never be soft like fresh Premo. If your Pardo has crumbles that are truly hard like sand particles and cannot be pressed into a ball, then the clay might have cured in transit or is very old. But treat it with kindness, move it slowly, it will respond much better. If you try to smash it suddenly, it will crumble into bits. And Pardo is more like this than other brands. But if you try to move the material quickly, it will fracture. If you stretch it really slowly, it will easily stretch and flow. You’ve seen this with Silly Putty or with the cornstarch and water substance called Oobleck. This means that when you apply a sudden stress to the material, it will often fracture rather than yield. Take it Easy with PardoĪnother quality of thixotropic materials is that they have low shear strength. But if you shake it first, the ketchup will then pour properly, correct? All you’re doing when you condition polymer clay is moving it around so that it will be more supple and will stretch and flow properly, just like a really thick block of ketchup. If you turn a bottle of ketchup over, it will sit like a rock in the bottom of the bottle, right? So you whack the end of it and nothing happens. Now that’s another one of my beloved science terms, but what it really means is that when it sits for very long, it tends to gel up. Just mush it around until it feels right. You can do it with your hands or with a machine, but the basic idea is the same. Conditioning just means that the clay is moved around enough to make it soft, workable, and so that it will stick to itself so you can make things with it. Here’s how to condition Pardo Translucent Art Clay.Īll brands of polymer clay must be conditioned before you can create anything with it. Pardo is not like other brands of polymer clay. It’s easy to assume that your clay has been partially cured or is old. It’s even more frustrating to find that the usual methods of softening polymer clay don’t work very well with Pardo. So it’s pretty frustrating when you’ve spent the money and the time waiting for it to arrive and you find that it’s hard and crumbly and difficult to condition. It’s also not commonly available in stores, and usually must be ordered through the mail. Pardo translucent art clay is a wonderful clay that’s remarkably more clear than other brands of translucent polymer clay. |
